WHAT IS VOTER ORGANIZING?
GOTV is accomplished by:

Making sure people are registered.
Things as simple as moving or getting married
(and changing one’s name) can knock people off the voter rolls. Many young people haven’t taken the steps to register. College kids enrolled in Michigan or Pennsylvania can register there if their home states are not swing states.

Making sure people have a voter plan.
People are more likely to follow through with their intention to vote if they know when and how they will vote. Will they vote early in person, on Election Day in person, or by mail? Do they need a ride to the polls? We will make sure people have a plan and help them overcome last minute obstacles.

In Michigan, the number of Ukrainian-Americans is greater than Trump’s margin of victory in the state in 2016. In Pennsylvania, the number of Ukrainian-Americans is greater than Trump’s margin of victory in that state in 2016, and also greater than that of Biden’s margin of victory in 2020.
In other words, the votes of Ukrainian-Americans might decide whether Ukraine continues to exist.

Why Pennsylvania and Michigan?
Pennsylvania and Michigan are key swing states.
In 2020, Biden beat Trump in Pennsylvania by only 80,000 votes. There are 60,000 self-identifying Ukrainian-Americans in metropolitan Philadelphia alone. There are 21,000 Ukrainian-Americans in Pittsburgh and 10,000 Ukrainian-Americans in Allentown. There are 122,291 self-identifying Ukrainian-Americans in Pennsylvania as a whole.
In 2020, Biden beat Trump in Michigan by only 154,188 votes. There are 45,000 self-identifying Ukrainian-Americans in metropolitan Detroit alone. In Hamtramck 8% of the population was born in Ukraine. In Warren 4% of the population was born in Ukraine. And in Detroit itself, 1% of the population was born in Ukraine.
